Yi Ding
Yi Ding, a soprano from China, has gained recognition for her vocal artistry and diverse performance experience. She has won prizes in numerous international competitions, including the District Winner of the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, the 12th Chinese Golden Bell Award of Music, the Korea & China International Vocal Competition, and the Tokyo International Vocal Competition. Her past performances include Liù in Turandot at the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival, Fiordiligi in Così fan Tutte at the Sun Valley Music Festival, The First Lady in The Magic Flute with Metauro Opera, Peaseblossom in A Midsummer Night's Dream with CCM Opera, Thérèse in Les Mamelles des Tirésias at the Peabody Institute, Mimì in La Bohème, and Gianetta in L'Elisir d'Amore at the China Conservatory of Music. She has performed as a soloist with prestigious ensembles such as the Baltimore Youth Symphony Orchestra, China Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, and the MSU Symphony Orchestra. She previously served as a voice faculty member at Yi Mei Institute, and she has been the music director of Sound of Joy Choir since 2024. Yi is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music under Dr. Gwendolyn Coleman and holds degrees from the Peabody Institute and China Conservatory of Music.
