MNScholar Program, 2026
CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS
Source Song Festival invites proposals from art song advocates in academia and postgraduate study to present 50 min lectures (no lecture recitals, please) on topics related to art song and collaboration.
Proposals related to the following topics will be highly encouraged, however we welcome all proposal topics to apply:
Hugo Wolf and/or the Italiensches Liederbuch
Nordic song repertoire and composers
Non-profit arts advocacy and engagement
Historical keyboard and performance practice
Entrepreneurial leadership and individual agency
CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS
Please submit a narrative or abstract of your presentation, no more than 250-350 words
Submit headshot and no more than 300 word biography
WHEN
August 2-7, 2025
ELIGIBILITY
There is no upper age restriction. All applications must be at least 18 years old as of May 1, 2026.
APPLICATION FEE
There is NO application fee.
PROGRAM FEE
There will be a $250 program fee for those selected as MNScholars.
WORKSHOP PROGRAM
Workshop includes:
50 minute presentation to a community and audience of approximately 40 music professionals and educators, 10:00 a.m. weekdays
Archival recording of your presentation, and access to recordings of the other MNScholar presentations
Feedback from Arlene Shrut and Stephen Swanson on stage presence and presentation techniques
Access to in-person festival masterclasses, performances, and lectures throughout the week with a Festival Pass
Instant network of fellow art song advocates to pursue further research and collaboration
It is not required to attend the entire festival, but it is highly encouraged.
