Helena Webster
Helena Webster (she/her) is a Rochester, NY-based soprano and Master of Music Performance student at the University of Toronto, where she will be receiving a degree in Vocal Pedagogy. She previously completed her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance at St. Olaf College, where she served as the student manager for the St. Olaf Choir during their 2019 Norway and 2020 Carnegie Hall tours, and studied under Alison Feldt. She is currently a Teaching Assistant for the Soprano-Alto Chorus at the University of Toronto, and a private voice teacher.
As a performer, Helena has sung the role of Graciela in Ann Millikan’s Swede Hollow, a 2012 opera based on the true life stories of immigrants to the St. Paul neighborhood. She has also performed alongside choir and orchestra as the soprano soloist in Vivaldi’s Gloria and Mozart’s Requiem. An avid amateur linguist, Helena has a deep love for choral music and contemporary solo art songs, and often collaborates with composers of many backgrounds and languages in Minnesota, Washington, New York, and Toronto. She is a champion of the works of women composers in her own performances, as well as her students’. As such, she was a featured soloist on the Canadian Art Song and Vocalis Chinese Art Song Concerts at the University of Toronto in spring 2025. She has been previously featured at the Barachois Summer Music festival, and was the 2nd place winner of the 2024 Ontario NATS Competition and Vocal Showcase.
