Hannah Comia
Hannah Comia (she/her) is a first gen Filipino-American pianist, singer, vocal coach, and music director based in NJ/NYC. She has performed in the US and abroad, appearing at Chicago Summer Opera, Helsinki Musiikitalo, Carnegie Hall, the Kosciuszko Foundation, Macerata Teatro, the Green Room 42, the Civic Morning Musicals Concert Series, and the Arabia-Kaikuu Festivaali. Her performances and scholarship have been supported through grants and fellowships from the American Scandinavian Foundation, the Finlandia-Italia Ry, Classic Lyric Arts, and SAI Philanthropies, Inc, and the SU Graduate School. Topics of interest include music and identity, music’s influence on politics, works by marginalized composers, and sustainability. Hannah serves on adjunct faculty at William Paterson University and as pianist at St. Mary’s Church in Pompton Lakes. She is a graduate of William Paterson University, Syracuse University, Metropolia UAS, and has studied at the Sibelius Academy.
