Ben Ross

Ben Ross is a Baltimore-based Baritone praised for using contemporary art music to tell new stories. They have been featured as a soloist with the South Florida Symphony Orchestra (Bernstein, Candide) Bach in Baltimore (Handel, Israel in Egypt), the Hartford Choral Society (Faure, Requiem) the Peabody Symphony Orchestra (Mozart, Requiem), and the Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra (Saint-Saëns, Requiem).

Ben has also appeared with St. Pete Opera, Opera Baltimore, Bel Cantanti Opera, Opera Delaware, Annapolis Opera, the Opera Company of Middlebury, Peabody Opera Theatre, and Thompson Street Opera. They are also a co-founder of TellTale Opera Theatre, a collective of artists in Baltimore devoted to asking the question, “What can opera be?”

Ben was previously a Vocal Fellow with the Spoleto Festival USA and a Brown-Loranger Fellow at SongFest. They have held apprenticeships with St. Pete Opera, TENET Vocal Artists, the Janiec Opera Company at Brevard Music Center, the Opera Company of Middlebury, and Cedar Rapids Opera. Ben holds degrees from the Peabody Institute and the University of Iowa.
