Seamus Hubbard Flynn (b. 1999) grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota, and is currently pursuing a B.A. in Music at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, where he studies composition with Eric Nathan and Wang Lu. Previously, in Minnesota, he studied with Abbie Betinis and Edie Hill. From 2016 to 2017, Seamus co-led NextNotes Lab, a high school student-run composer ensemble affiliated with the American Composers Forum, and he has also had his music performed by professional ensembles such as Minnesota's Zeitgeist and New York's YarnWire. During summers, Seamus has studied at the Atlantic Music Festival (2018), the Rocky Ridge Young Artist Seminar (2017) and the Junior Composers Studio (2016). In addition to composing, playing and listening to music, Seamus enjoys riding his bicycle and learning about such topics as social justice and outer space.
