Neil nanyi qiang

Pianist Neil Nanyi Qiang is pursuing a diverse career as a chamber musician, vocal coach, and soloist. He has performed in many music venues across North America and his homeland, China.

An alumnus of Music Academy of the West’s Collaborative Piano Program (2015), he has appeared in music festivals such as SongFest 2016, Hawaii Performing Arts Festival, iSING Young Artists Festival, Vancouver International Song Institute, and New Music on the Point. Most recently he holds the Pianist/Coach fellowship at the “ECCO” program of Minnesota Opera.

He has performed in masterclasses given by Sir. Thomas Allen, Jonathan Feldman, Margo Garrett, Richie Hawley, Martin Katz, Julie Landsman, Donald McInnes, Susanne Mentzer, John Musto, Roger Vignoles, among others.

Qiang earned his MM in Piano Performance from the University of Washinton, Seattle after his undergraduate studies at Sichuan Conservatory of Music, China. Currently he is pursuing his DMA in Collaborative Piano and Coaching at the Univ. of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
