Jon Lewis has been Executive Director of the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra since 2012, following four years of arts administration experience and over 25 years of law practice. Jon’s first arts administration job was as Executive Director of the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies (GTCYS). Jon then took the same position with the Twin Cities Gay Men’s Chorus. Throughout his career, Jon has served on and advised many non-profit boards in the Twin Cities community, including the Board of Directors of One Voice Mixed Chorus, where he served as President. Jon has been the President of the Board of Directors of Source Song Festival since October of 2016.
Since 1997, Jon has played percussion with the MSO and performs with other groups throughout the Twin Cities. He graduated with a B.A. from St. Olaf College in 1982 and obtained a J.D. from Cornell Law School in 1985. Jon lives in Minneapolis with his wife Lisa and their two cats.
